---------- press quotes ----------

"Two Englishmen who deal in the eccentric side of improvisation that the British seem to do best . . . . . rippling soprano and tenor . . . . . unadulterated honking frenzies . . . . . a pipe organ recital from outer space . . . . . (Fell) jumping around the piano keys like Monk. This is interesting music." Jerome Wilson CADENCE

"Wow! M.M. is like a portmanteau version of Compilation II. This is what music should do, and more so. Loved it." BEN WATSON

about

Charles Wharf / Simon H. Fell

Charles Wharf (reeds) and Simon H. Fell (basses) have been playing improvised (and composed) music together since round about 1981. Sometimes they play together more often, sometimes less so. They have often played in a trio with Paul Hession (drumset) and very occasionally this trio has become a quartet with a second saxophonist (e.g. Alan Wilkinson, Robert Kretchsmar).
